The lord Charles of Blois was at that time return-ed to the country : but, as he could not bear arms himfelf, he, was perpetually teaming the regent of France to fend him a fufficiency of men.at arms to raife the fiege of Rennes. But the regent was too much occupied with the affairs of France, which werç in great confufion, to attend to his requeft, and therefore the fiege of Rennes was Hill con-tinued. CHAP. CLXXIII. A KNIGHT OP THE COUNTRY OF EVREUX, CALLED fclR WILLIAM DE GRATILLE, RE-CONQUERS THE CITY AND CASTLE OF EVREUX FROM THÉ KING OF FRANCE, WHO HAD TAKEN IT FROM THE KING OF NAVARRE.
